Hit 1,000 logged dives and the math surprised me more than the milestone
I finally crossed 1,000 commercial dives after 14 years, mostly in the Gulf near Galveston. Everyone talks about the big jobs or the scary ones, but what actually hit me was how many were just routine pipeline inspections, maybe 700 of them. That number made me rethink all the advice about chasing the exciting salvage work. The boring dives paid the bills and kept me safe, and I think we undersell that in this trade. Has anyone else looked back at their logbook and found the unglamorous work mattered more than the hero jobs?
