Dropped $229 on a power supply tester kit and it sits in my drawer collecting dust
I bought one of those fancy PSU tester kits about 8 months ago thinking it would speed up my diag work at the shop. Turns out 9 out of 10 power issues I see are just a dead board or bad caps, and the tester only tells me yes or no on voltage rails, which I can check with a $12 multimeter anyway. I used it maybe 4 times total and it never once caught something my cheap meter missed. Wasted $229 plus shipping and now it's buried under a pile of SATA cables in my bottom drawer. If you're on the fence about buying one, just grab a basic multimeter and save your cash. What tools have you guys bought that turned out to be a total waste?
