Hot take: most 'slow PC' tickets at my shop are not malware, they are a $30 part
Everyone in my local tech group blames viruses or Windows updates, but a guy dropped off a Dell at my bench in Dayton 3 weeks ago and it was just a dying hard drive at 100% disk load the whole time. Swapped in an SSD and he was out the door for $140. Anybody else seeing way more hardware failures blamed on software?
