TIL a trick for stuck washing machine pumps from a hotel maintenance guy in St. Louis

Tell me about it, I've definitely left a few boot prints on stubborn machines. The bar trick saves your toes and your pride lol.

Warning: I tried using a cheap post hole digger from a big box store for a job in Phoenix

You said the weight of the heavy-duty digger helped it punch through. Honestly, I find it's more about the blade design and steel quality than just weight. A lighter, well-tempered blade with a sharp bevel will cut through caliche better than a heavy, dull one. The cheap ones just fold over on a hard layer.

The Colorado Trail reroute near Twin Lakes is a downgrade, not an improvement

I was actually excited for the new trail when they announced it. Hiking it last month changed my mind completely. The sand is already deep and loose, and that section bakes in the sun now. It felt like a longer, hotter climb without the old road's airflow.

I bought a $40 'bullet journal starter kit' online and it was a total waste lol

Just grab a cheap notebook and a pen next time.

Question about a forum post that got a lot of replies when I was sure it would flop

Man, that's so true. I love how @lisaf38 put it, because the advice itself becomes a whole new mess to sort through. Did you even try any of the wild fixes people suggested, or did you just stumble on the ice cube tray by accident while ignoring all the noise? I feel like the real answer is always something stupid and simple you find after you've already panicked.
