Unpopular opinion: database backups that restore cleanly matter more than the fancy dashboard
After a client in Austin lost 3 days of inventory data because their 'automated backup' only saved the log files, I started testing every restore on a spare box and now I refuse to call a job done until I've actually pulled the data back, has anyone else found that most backup tools fail exactly when you need them?
