Just realized the week the power went out for 4 days was the calmest I've been in 2 years
So back in March a storm knocked out our grid here in Dayton for 4 days straight. No phone service, no wifi, no nothing. First day I panicked. By day two I noticed my chest didn't feel tight anymore. I slept 9 hours a night, which never happens for me. Me and the neighbor sat on his porch and just watched the street for hours. Now I'm half convinced all this constant feed scrolling is what's making everyone sick. Am I nuts for kinda missing it? Has anyone else had a forced blackout week that felt like a detox?
Gotta be honest, that sounds less like a detox and more like you just got lucky with a calm week. Like yeah the scrolling is a problem, no argument there, but sitting on a porch watching an empty street for 4 days is boring, not healing. My sister went through the same thing in Texas and by day 3 she was crying because she couldn't check on her kid's school stuff or call her boss. Some people had meds they couldn't refill, food going bad, no way to reach anyone in an emergency. You slept good because you were stuck at home with nothing to do, not because your brain got fixed. The quiet felt nice for you, but for a lot of folks that same week was pure stress.
