An old superintendent showed me more in one morning than any software training
Back in 2015 I was running reports for a mixed-use project outside Austin, TX and this guy, Dale, had been on site since the 80s. He pulled me aside and pointed at the schedule printout on his truck hood, said "the program is just a map, you still gotta walk the land." He showed me how he marked up the actual concrete pour sequence on a paper copy and compared it to the digital timeline, stuff the software never flagged because it assumed two crews could work the same pad at once. Ever had a veteran field guy break down a tool you use every day in a way that made you feel like a rookie?

Man, that hits hard. The software tells you what should happen but not what actually can happen on the ground with real people and real mud. Dale basically showed you that the tools are only as good as the pair of boots using them.
