My GC said skip the project management software, my office manager said no way
Three months ago I took over a 40 unit apartment renovation in Austin. My general contractor told me to just use a shared spreadsheet, he said the software was overkill for a job this size. My office manager pushed back and made me use a real system. The spreadsheet got so tangled with change orders and vendor invoices that we almost double paid a lumber supplier, and the software caught it. The GC still swears it was luck, but I know better now. Has anyone else had a veteran on site give bad tech advice that cost you real time or money?
