Stop forcing all field reports into one mobile app
Been on three jobsites this year where the PM insisted every crew log everything in one app. New helper on Monday takes 20 minutes just to find where to add a photo. I track punch lists in one place and daily logs in another. Tried Procore for both back in March near Columbus and it bloated the whole workflow. Why are we standardizing everything when different trades need different fields? Anyone else running separate tools on purpose?
Twenty minutes to find a photo button is insane. I've been running two separate apps for two years now and my crews actually finish their logs on time. One app for punch lists, one for daily reports, and nobody has to hunt through seven menus to do a five second task. The trades on my sites have totally different needs, an electrician doesn't care about the same fields a concrete guy does. Forcing everyone into one system just makes people skip steps or fake the entries. Different tools for different jobs is not a mess, it's just smart.
