Spent $140 on a color theory workshop that was all common sense

I signed up for a weekend color correction class in Portland last month, thinking it would teach me some new techniques. Turns out the instructor just walked us through the basic color wheel and a few formulas I already knew from beauty school. I could've spent that money on actual products or a good pair of shears instead. Has anyone else paid for continuing ed that turned out to be a waste?
