Found out my crane uses more fuel idling than I thought
I was going through the telematics report last week on my Terex RT130 and saw that idling ate up about 18 gallons over a 10 hour slow day. That's roughly 60 bucks down the drain just waiting for the crew to get their act together. My old operator never mentioned this stat, and I've been running cranes for 7 years without checking it. Now I'm wondering if shutting down during those long waits is worth the wear on the starter or if the fuel savings just get swapped for repair bills. Has anyone else dug into their idle data and changed how they run a job site because of it?
