My old foreman laughed when I said the load chart felt off, and he was right to laugh
Was setting a 6,000 lb HVAC unit on a roof in Riverside back in March and the chart said I was fine at that radius, but something felt loose. My foreman Sal, 22 years in the seat, looked at my boom angle and said the chart does not care about your gut, it cares about your setup. Turns out my outriggers were on a soft spot near a drain grate and the pad was sinking just enough to mess with my level. Cost me 45 minutes to re-pad and re-level, but Sal's point stuck with me. Any of you ever had a chart read fine but your body told you to stop?
