Pro tip: check your outrigger pads before the inspector shows up, not while he's standing there
Last Tuesday I was setting up a 60 ton at a warehouse job in Fort Worth and the third party inspector walked up right as I was dropping my pads in the mud. He asked when I'd last looked at them and I had to admit one had a crack running halfway through that I never noticed. He shut the whole pick down for 40 minutes while I dug out the spares, and my lift director was not happy about the delay. Now I do a pad walk around before I even unlock the cab door. Anyone got a good way to store spares so they don't get beat up in the truck?
