Serious question, why does the site in Tacoma run 2 riggers on a 90 ton pick?
I was on a job site over in Tacoma last Thursday and watched a crew run a 90 ton pick with 2 riggers on the ground plus a guy in the blind. Back home we would run that same pick with one rigger and the operator working the tag line from the cab. I get every site has its own rules and the GC might be scared after some close call. But standing there for 3 hours watching 4 guys do what 2 can handle got me thinking about how much of this is insurance rules versus guys just not wanting to speak up. Does anyone know if that is a Washington state thing or just that one outfit? Curious what the rest of you see on bigger picks in your area.
