Noticed every prompt needs a 'before' state to hit right
Was beta reading for a buddy last week and every story he wrote started mid-action, no setup, and they all fell flat. Realized the good prompts here always give you a starting point, like a broken relationship or a weird job, so you have something to bounce off of. Anyone else find prompts useless when they skip the baseline situation?

Wait, so your buddy's stories are like getting into a car with no engine and expecting it to drive itself? A prompt without a before state is just a blank canvas, and nobody wants to stare at that.
