Tried the "write the ending first" trick, it ruined my outline
Last month I decided to flip my usual process and write the final scene before anything else. Ended up with a killer climax that completely contradicted my planned midpoint, so I spent 4 days rebuilding the whole plot around it. Anyone else find that drafting backwards just creates more work, or do you swear by it?

Did you try planting the ending earlier, or just build toward it blindly?
