I called that $1,200 online course a scam for 2 years, then I finally watched the first module
I need to admit something dumb. For about 2 years I went on every forum and comment section saying that $1,200 course was just recycled YouTube advice in a fancy wrapper. I was so sure it was a cash grab. Then a buddy in Denver who does the same kind of videos I do bought it and kept bugging me to at least watch the intro. I finally caved last Tuesday out of pure annoyance. The first 20 minutes alone broke down a retention trick using the exact timestamps from my own last 3 uploads, stuff I had never noticed in 4 years of editing. I went back through my analytics and saw he was right about where my viewers bailed, down to almost the same second on two different videos. So now I am sitting here eating my words. Has anyone else paid for a course they spent ages trashing and actually gotten something real out of it, or did I just get lucky with this one guy?
