I filmed my whole setup for a year before noticing one huge mistake...

I kept getting comments about my audio sounding 'far away' even with a decent mic, and it finally clicked when I watched a video from a creator in Austin. They pointed out that my camera was picking up echo from a bare wall behind me... I added a cheap moving blanket as a backdrop and the difference was like night and day. Has anyone else fixed a simple thing that made your whole video quality jump?

Moving blankets help a ton, but they mostly stop echo from behind you. The real trick is also treating the wall you're facing... that's where your voice goes first. I put up some foam panels on the wall behind my camera and it killed that hollow sound completely.

Blankets are a total game changer for sound.

Ugh, been there, it's so frustrating.
