Snuck into a creator meetup in Chicago and counted how many people actually showed their face on camera
I got a last minute invite to a small creator meetup at a rented space in Chicago last month, about 40 people there. What got me was that maybe 8 of them ever put their own face in their content, the rest were all voiceover or faceless channels. One guy running a 200k sub channel told me he wears a mask in every video on purpose because it makes editing faster and he never has to worry about his hair. That one line made me realize half the "personal brand" talk online is people hiding behind a microphone. If you run a faceless channel, what is your actual reason for staying off camera?
