My electrician in Boise pushed back on my panel layout and I'm glad I listened
I had planned a 200 amp panel with all the breakers lined up in neat rows for my build in Meridian, and my electrician Dave asked why I was putting the subpanel in the garage instead of the utility room. He pointed out that running conduit 40 extra feet through finished walls now would cost me about $1,200 in labor if I ever wanted to add a shop out back. I moved it. Now I'm wondering what else I've been stubborn about on this build that a trades guy could fix in five minutes if I just asked.
