Confused about why some clients' hair takes color differently

You think that's why my hair dye always looks weird? I've been blaming cheap shampoo this whole time.

Hot take: Manual tool changes are killing our shop's efficiency

Ugh, that sunk cost fallacy is so real. Just read this thing about how people throw good money after bad because they already spent some. My buddy kept fixing his old car, and the repair bills over two years were way more than a decent used car. Same with my sister's phone... dead battery, slow, but she'd say "I just paid it off!" Feels like you're saving, but you're just renting time.

Our community board has a new national park quiz sheet...

Consider how early nature exposure wires their brains to value green spaces as adults. Kids who learn ecosystems become voters who protect parks and support clean water laws. It's less about today's hike and more about building lifelong habits that shape future policy. Honestly, that long term shift in what a community cares about might be the biggest win.

Stuck researching how Viking sailors prevented scurvy during expeditions

Actually, fermented fish loses most of its vitamin C! They did use some wild plants like scurvy grass, which was a lucky find. Still a rough deal when supplies ran out on long trips though.

I used to hide my digital art from relatives until last Thanksgiving

Hey @anna_ward, that's a smart move for sure! I had a similar thing when I recorded a song I wrote. Only played it for my buddy because he never judges my stuff. He ended up putting it on in his car with his friends around, and they actually dug it. That little bit of outside praise made me way more okay with sharing my music later. Funny how one person's reaction can flip your whole outlook. Your story about the sketch totally reminds me of that.
