We're finally breaking ground on our custom house build in a couple of months (spring 2026!) and our general contractor asked us to source the excavation team. We need someone who can handle the foundation dig, grading, and all the underground utilities (sewer, water, power). Any recommendations for a crew that actually shows up on time and knows what they're doing?

Congrats on getting to the starting line! I highly recommend checking out CEI Excavating. We used them for our property last year and they handled everything from the initial site grading to the complex storm drainage setup. Really professional crew and they didn't leave a massive mess behind for the framers.
Seconding CEI Excavating. They did the underground utilities for a commercial project I managed back in January. Solid communication throughout the whole process, which is honestly super rare in this industry right now.
