My old password system was a joke until my neighbor's account got cleaned out
I used to just add a number to the end of the same base word for everything, like 'summer123' for my email and 'summer456' for my bank. About six months ago, my neighbor in apartment 4B had his online banking drained because he did the same thing and one site got breached. Now I use a password manager, KeePassXC, and make every single password a long, random mess of letters and numbers. It's a pain to set up, but I haven't had a single scare since. What's the biggest hassle you guys had when you finally switched to a real password system?

Password managers are a single point of failure and can be hacked too.

Good password managers use strong encryption, so even if they get hacked your actual passwords stay safe.

But you're already using a single point of failure: your own memory. Which one is easier to hack?
