Rant: My whole Monday got wrecked by a fake invoice email
I got an email that looked like it was from a tool supplier I use, asking me to pay an invoice for $1,200. It had their logo and everything. I almost clicked the link, but I checked the sender's actual email address and it was a weird string of letters. I called the real company and they confirmed it was a scam. Has anyone else seen these fake invoice emails get really good lately?

Man, that "weird string of letters" for the sender address is the biggest red flag, but it's so easy to miss when the rest looks perfect. It's scary how convincing these have gotten, with the real logos and everything. Good on you for catching it and calling to check. I had a similar one last month that almost got me because I was rushing. Makes you paranoid about every single email now, doesn't it?
