Spent 3 hours hunting a deleted post about a landlord in Austin, turns out it was never deleted, just moved to a private sub
So last Tuesday I got sucked into this rabbit hole over a post I saw go viral, some landlord in Austin posted a whole rant about his tenant and it blew up, then vanished from my feed. I figured it got nuked so I went digging, checked the wayback machine, scrolled through three different archive accounts on here, even messaged a mod. Three hours gone, coffee cold, and then a guy in the comments tells me it was never deleted at all, the OP just made the sub private and the post is still sitting there. I felt so dumb because I had screenshots the whole time and never even looked at my own camera roll. The lesson here is that half the stuff we call deleted drama is just hidden drama, which honestly makes archiving kinda pointless if we don't know the difference. Anyway, how do you all tell the difference between a real delete and a post that just got locked or moved? I need a better system before I waste another night on this.
