The alternate ending for that 90s rom-com is way darker than I expected

I was digging through a random DVD box set at a thrift store in Portland and found a hidden menu with a deleted ending where the main couple doesn't get back together, instead she moves to Alaska alone with her cat. The whole tone flips from sweet to kinda depressing, but honestly it felt more real than the theatrical cut. Has anyone else stumbled on an alternate ending that completely changes how you see the movie?
