Picked a used injector puller over a new one, saved $85 and my sanity

Last week I was working on a 2007 Cummins in my shop in Wichita and the injectors were stuck bad. I kept fighting with a cheap slide hammer and it was doing nothing but bending my arms. I had to decide between spending $140 on a brand new puller from the truck store or grabbing a used Snap-On one from a salvage place for $55. Honestly I was nervous the used one might be worn out, but the guy at the counter said it came off a retired tech's box and looked barely used. I took the chance and it popped those injectors out in about 20 minutes, no drama at all. The old teeth were still sharp and the threads were clean, so it worked just as good as new. Has anyone else had good luck with buying used specialty tools instead of paying full price?
