Actually, that final torque sequence lets the gasket settle RIGHT. It's not just about being behind on time. People forget it ensures even pressure across the whole head. Skipping it to save a few minutes is a HUGE risk, no matter the schedule. The manual has those steps for a solid reason, and ignoring them invites trouble.
