Question about that 'guaranteed' coworking pass in Medellin
I bought a 3-month pass for $450 before arriving, but the place was always packed and the wifi cut out constantly. Has anyone found a better way to book a reliable spot there without paying upfront?

That "guaranteed" pass thing is such a joke, right? I had a buddy who paid for a whole year at a spot in Mexico City, same deal. They oversold the space so badly he ended up working from a coffee shop most days. Makes you wonder why they even sell those passes if they can't provide a seat.

Man, I see it totally different. I mean, my place has a guaranteed pass and it's never been a problem. They just have a few desks set aside for us that nobody else can use. Maybe it depends on the spot, but mine actually does what it says. Your buddy's situation sounds super annoying though.

Yeah, but that's not really a guaranteed pass then, is it? That's just overselling. A real guaranteed pass should work like what lane.cameron described, with actual desks saved just for those members. If you're paying for that promise, you should get a seat, period. My old spot in Austin had the same problem, calling it guaranteed but having twenty people fight for five reserved spots. It just means they're bad at managing their space, not that the idea itself is broken.
