Warning: that cheap co-living spot in Lisbon almost wrecked my setup

I thought I was being smart saving $400 a month on a place in Cais do Sodré, but the WiFi dropped every 45 minutes on the dot... had to take calls from a coffee shop 3 blocks away. Anyone else get burned by flashy listings hiding bad internet?

Wait, every 45 minutes exactly? Like you could set a watch to it? That's kind of insane actually. I had a similar place near Time Out Market last year and the internet would just die during peak hours like 6 to 9 PM. Landlord said they'd fix it but never did. Had to hotspot off my phone and that ate through my data plan pretty fast.

Man that "every 45 minutes on the dot" part got me. I actually laughed out loud because I had the exact same thing happen at a place near Martim Moniz. Landlord swore up and down the fiber was top tier, but come to find out the router was older than me and just had a built in timer for how long it could stay on before overheating. I ended up running a 20 foot ethernet cable across my room like some kind of cyberpunk tripping hazard. Saved like fifty bucks a month though, so I guess that's the trade off.
