My old drafting table in the home office finally gave out after 12 years
The main support arm snapped clean off last Tuesday while I was working on a set of shop drawings for a client in Austin. I had to prop it up with a stack of old code books just to finish the day. Has anyone else had to do a quick fix on their main work station, and what did you end up replacing it with?

Stack of old code books" is the real pro move right there.

The 1997 NEC code book I found at a garage sale still had handwritten notes about knob and tube wiring. That thing is older than some of the houses I work on. I can't imagine trusting it for anything beyond a doorstop.

But seriously, what's the actual USE case for keeping them? I get the history angle, but beyond that, are you actually checking old rules against new work? That seems like a major liability waiting to happen.
