That one bartender in Nashville killed my whole shift on a Saturday

I was barbacking at a packed spot off Broadway last summer. This bartender, 20 years in, told me to stop restocking the well during the rush because it messes with the pour rhythm. I didn't listen and broke three bottles in 10 minutes. Now I always check with the lead before I touch anything mid-service. Anyone else have a coworker whose weird rule turned out to be the only thing keeping the floor from chaos?

idk man, sometimes the old timer rules just make sense. I learned that the hard way too.
