That one DM from a fan account turned weird fast

A random account messaged me last Tuesday pretending to love my mashups, then within 4 messages asked for my address to send a 'gift'. Has anyone else gotten a cold pitch from a fan that clearly had an angle, or am I just unlucky with internet randoms?

Had the SAME thing happen to me about a year back. Some account with like 12 followers acted like they were my biggest fan, then boom, three messages in they want my email for a "collab" that turned out to be some crypto thing. What worked for me was just not replying at all and blocking right away. These people count on you being polite and curious so they can keep pulling you in. Now anytime a brand new account love bombs me out of nowhere, I just assume it's a scam and move on.
