Can we talk about how much better my mockups got after I stopped using my phone camera?

Honestly, my design sketches looked like garbage for months because I was just taking pics with my iPhone 8. I finally bought a basic used DSLR, a Canon T3i, for like $150 last month. The difference in the photos is crazy. You can actually see the fabric texture and the true color of my dye samples now. It took my portfolio from looking super amateur to something I'd actually show a client. Has anyone else had a simple gear upgrade make that big of a change for their design work?

My friend had the same thing happen with her pottery photos. Her Etsy shop looked totally different after she got a real camera.

Remember when everyone used phone pics for selling stuff? I tried that with my old bike and the photos looked so flat. Got a decent used DSLR and sold it for way more the next week. Lighting matters almost as much as the camera itself.
