Am I the only one who had a wedding client ask for a bouquet with 200 individual orchids last Thursday?

It was a great week until that request came in, because sourcing that many phalaenopsis stems on short notice (and staying within her $800 budget) meant I had to call in every favor with my three local wholesalers by Friday morning.

How do people even come up with these last minute ideas? That sounds like a total nightmare to pull together. Calling in all those favors just to make it work is rough. Hope they at least knew how much extra effort that took. Some clients really have no clue about what things actually cost or how hard they are to get. You pulled it off though, that's seriously impressive.

Honestly it's like this weird thing where people see something online and suddenly think it's easy... like custom cakes or flower arrangements. They don't see the years of skill or the supply chain behind it. Makes you realize how many jobs have this hidden cost of stress and last minute scrambling.

Right? And like terry_carter15 said, they never get the real cost. It's all the invisible panic work that makes the price what it is.
