I laughed at a client who wanted to pay me in crypto, but now I'm asking for it.

A graphic design client last month offered to pay half my $800 invoice in Bitcoin, and I thought it was a joke. I agreed just to be nice, but then the value shot up by almost 20% before I moved it to my bank. That extra cash covered a surprise car repair. Has anyone else had a weird payment method actually work out for them?

My buddy who does handyman work got paid with a box of old video games once... just a bunch of dusty cartridges. He was kinda annoyed until he looked them up and one of them was some rare game that sells for like 300 bucks. He kept that one and sold the rest for pizza money.

Got paid in vintage baseball cards once for fixing a guy's website. Thought it was a total loss until I found one rookie card in the stack worth more than my original invoice. Sometimes the weirdest barter turns into a hidden gem.

Ever get paid in something totally weird, @the_casey? I once took a stack of old cookbooks and found a signed first edition in the middle!
