I thought those smart light switches were just a gimmick for a while.

My friend in Chicago put a bunch of Lutron Caseta switches in his house and kept telling me to try them. I finally got one for my front porch light and set it to turn on at sunset automatically. It's been 6 months and I haven't touched the switch once, which is way more useful than I expected. Has anyone else found a smart home gadget that actually stuck after you were sure it was pointless?

Totally get that. I was the same with smart plugs, thought they were just for lazy people. Bought one on sale to turn a lamp on at night and now I have three. Never realized how annoying it was to fumble for a switch until I didn't have to.

Smart thermostats seemed silly until mine cut the heating bill way down.

Lol, classic. We all become that friend eventually. Swore my robot vacuum was a dumb toy, now I get mad when it bumps into my foot.
