Caught a serious flaw in our skylight glass before it gave way
Last week on a commercial atrium job, I spotted a hairline crack in a tempered glass pane during final checks. It was from over-tightened mounting clips at the factory. This could have led to a dangerous shatter. Always double-check all glass under proper lighting before signing off.

Actually, a good polarized filter on your inspection light matters way more than dawn vs noon. Found a nearly hidden stress point last month that direct sunlight missed completely. The clip pressure marks show up best with angled light from below the frame.

Proper lighting helps, but have you considered how the time of day affects what you see? Shadows can hide defects until it's too late. We should be checking the glass from both inside and out, not just a quick glance. What if the factory error is on the edge where it's hard to spot? That kind of oversight could lead to a real disaster on site.
