TIL my garage gun shop needed better air flow fast
I turned part of my garage into a work area for cleaning and fixing guns. It seemed fine at first with just the door open. After a few weeks, I could taste metal in the air when sanding. My eyes would water from the cleaner fumes. I started getting headaches that lasted hours after I finished. A buddy who does this for a living asked about my ventilation. He told me that stale air lets all sorts of bad stuff pile up. I bought a simple box fan and a good filter to pull air out. It made a huge difference right away.

Tasting metal in the air is your body's way of saying "hey maybe don't breathe that," lol. Glad your buddy pointed out the obvious health hazard before you turned your garage into a permanent headache factory. A box fan and filter is a cheap fix for not poisoning yourself.

Permanent headache factory" is putting it nicely. That metal taste is basically your brain's last-ditch error message before the system crashes. I give it two more weekends before you'd have been trying to season your food by just leaving it in the garage. People really will ignore every warning sign just to avoid a trip to the hardware store.

Couldn't that metal taste just be in your head?
