The day my salon floor became a slip-n-slide of hair spray

I was putting in new floor tiles in my home salon over the weekend. Things were going okay until I bumped a full can of super strong hair spray. It fell and rolled right where I was about to step. When I put my foot down, the can shot out and spun across the room. It left a long, slick trail of spray that made the floor crazy slippery. I tried to walk and almost fell, grabbing my color cart for balance. Now I have a shiny strip that smells like apples and bad choices, lmao.

You mentioned the hair spray made a "slick trail," which totally makes sense it was so slippery. Just a heads up though, that slickness isn't usually from oil. Most of those strong-hold sprays are loaded with plastics and polymers (basically plastic fibers) that coat the floor, and that coating is what gets crazy slippery when it's wet.

Totally, it's wild how many products leave that invisible plastic film everywhere. Makes you rethink what's actually building up in our homes.

Yeah that plastic coating feels like walking on a thin layer of wax paper, it’s wild. I’ve wiped up spills after my roommate uses that super hold stuff and the floor just feels weirdly smooth for days. Makes total sense why it turns into a skating rink with any moisture.
