Fresh paint on trees ruined my last hike

I saw new blazes on a local trail that looked bad. This old way hurts the trees and spoils the fun. Why not use rocks or signs instead?

Feel the same way about painted blazes. They wreck the tree bark and spoil the view. I've spotted some on my local trails too, and it's always a downer. Switching to rock cairns or small signs would be so much better, lol.

Did you ever think painted blazes were fine? I used to, but seeing the peeled bark made me switch to liking cairns.
