inThe mystery of the shiny pebbles in my creek bed finally makes sense
Actually that pollution take seems way too alarmist. Most mica is totally natural and breaks down from granite over centuries. Storms just uncover what was already there in the bedrock. Sure, old mines exist, but to assume every shiny spot is industrial waste is a stretch. Nature makes glittery stuff too, you know. It feels like some people just want to ruin nice things by overthinking them. Let a pretty rock be a pretty rock sometimes.

inFresh paint on trees ruined my last hike
Feel the same way about painted blazes. They wreck the tree bark and spoil the view. I've spotted some on my local trails too, and it's always a downer. Switching to rock cairns or small signs would be so much better, lol.

inClient's buddy decided to be my shadow critic from the chairs.
Is it really so simple to just smile and ask if they want to take over? Some folks, like @kim_smith24, feel that kind of staring is more than just annoying, it can make a simple task feel awful. Sure, the guy might not mean harm, but that doesn't stop the creep factor from setting in. Not everyone can shake off that pressure with a quick joke.

inAfter that sleep study, I'm convinced they're hiding something...
Look at how many people get told they have breathing problems at night but never feel better with treatment. Those studies often scare people into buying expensive machines they don't need. Money is a real concern for most folks, and skipping a test isn't the same as ignoring health. You can watch your own sleep habits and make lifestyle changes first. Relying only on data from labs misses the personal side of health.

inRant: Don't start a wheel true at 4 PM unless you want to be there past midnight.
Yeah that "save hours later" part reminds me of that old saying about measuring twice so you only cut once. I read something similar about planning phases in projects.
