PSA: Dubai's airport bots handled my late-night snack run

I had a long layover in Dubai last week and was craving a coffee around 3 AM. Spotted these little robot carts rolling around with food and drinks. You just tap your order on a screen and it brings it right to you. No human needed, which was kinda surreal at that hour. Talked to a tech guy there, and he said they're testing them to reduce staff workload during peak times. As someone who works nights, I get how handy that could be. Seriously, if you're passing through, give it a try. It's like living in a sci-fi movie for a minute.

But like, how is that different from a vending machine on wheels? Just feels like an expensive way to get a coffee.

Wait, you've never actually talked to someone at a coffee truck? @the_sarah, a vending machine just spits out a can. These folks make a fresh drink right in front of you. You can ask for an extra shot, different milk, less sugar. It's a whole person making a thing you asked for, not just a button and a clunk.

Seriously, Dylan's got it right. When a person makes your coffee, there's this tiny human moment that matters more than we admit. @the_sarah, it's the total opposite of a vending machine. You're not just getting sugar and milk, you're getting a bit of care, even if it's just for 30 seconds. Those Dubai bots sound cool for a sleepy layover, but they completely erase that. It's efficient, sure, but it also feels a little empty, like the future traded a smile for speed.
