I miss the days of open-ended VR world exploration, before everything turned quest-driven.

Forget the quests, the real loss is the death of silent exploration where you could just vibe in a digital space. Now every corner has a marker telling you what to do next.

Read an interview where a VR dev admitted they fill worlds with quests because 'empty space metrics look bad'. I mean, it kinda confirms what we're all feeling, right?

Back in the early MMO days, I spent hours just wandering the empty fields of Norrath without any objective. That sense of discovery felt more personal because the world wasn't cluttered with waypoints. Do you think modern game design has forgotten how to let players just exist in a space?
