Showerthought: Dialing in the right coolant mix felt like a victory
I've been fighting with finish quality on these stainless parts for weeks, just little marks that shouldn't be there. Tried adjusting the tool paths and speeds, but nothing fixed it. Yesterday, I got fed up and started playing with the coolant concentration, adding a bit more oil to the mix. Ran a test piece and the surface came out smooth, like glass. No more those tiny streaks. It’s a small thing, but it made my whole shift better. Saved me so much time on rework. Makes me think sometimes the fix is simpler than we make it. Anyone have a go-to ratio for stainless?
