Just realized turning off comments saved my sanity after a job site clip blew up
Got famous for all the wrong reasons last month when a client posted a TikTok of me facepalming over a wrong measurement. My phone blew up with notifications for days, mostly from people who just wanted to joke around. The real hack I learned? Go into your social media settings and shut off comments and DMs on that viral post specifically. It let the video do its thing for business but filtered out all the noise so I could actually answer real client emails. Went from being totally overwhelmed to just having a weird story to tell.

How many real client emails came through once the joke comments stopped?

Seriously, why don't more people talk about this trick? I had a meme from my workshop blow up last year, and the comments were driving me crazy. Turning off alerts for that one post was a game changer. It let me talk to real customers instead of wasting time on jokes. You hit the nail on the head. It's all about controlling the flood so you can do your job.

Was there a single useful comment in that flood, or just a bunch of keyboard comedians? I can only imagine the nonsense you had to sift through (like, who needs that many puns about woodworking?). Turning off alerts is basically putting up a 'no clown zone' sign for your notifications. It lets you focus on the people who actually want to buy stuff, not just laugh at memes. Honestly, more folks should try it before they drown in replies.
