Warning: The farmer's market near my place is cutting back. Brings back memories of chefs jostling for the first harvest of the day.

Noticed something similar in a piece from the local paper... they pointed out that when restaurants buy up early crops, it leaves less for farmers markets and regular customers. Which kinda lines up with what @zarabell is saying about the hustle hiding slim pickings. That demand from high-end places creates a bubble... makes everything look thriving until the checks stop coming. Heard from a farmer at the market that once the restaurant orders dropped, they had to scale back big time. It's like the real picture of local farming was under all that fancy food hype. Now we see how much was just for show... and how little was actually growing for everyday people.

Cassette tapes are popping up at every indie merch table I see lately

Old boomboxes are low-key survival gear if they take batteries. AM/FM radio is the real backup when the internet and cell towers go down. That dusty thing might pick up emergency broadcasts long after your phone becomes a brick. The cassette part is useless, but the radio could actually help. You should check if it still powers on.

Appreciation post: Always figured street food tours were kinda basic. Did one in Bangkok last week and the guide showed us how to read the crowds for the freshest stuff. Total mindset shift.

I mean dylanfisher has a point but sometimes you just want food, you know? Idk if I'm watching the wok fire that close, maybe it's just me but I'll eat the sitting meat if I'm hungry enough.

Just realized my meditation app's AI voice coach actually calms me down faster than silence.

Your app's AI might just be reading your phone's sensors, not your mind.
