Remember that guy from Phoenix who got famous for his angry cat video three years ago?

It was a clip of his cat, Mr. Whiskers, knocking over a whole shelf of books while making a weird noise. It got 8 million views in a week. Some people say the sudden fame wrecked his quiet life, but others argue he got a book deal and a TV spot out of it. What do you think, is accidental viral fame more of a curse or a blessing for regular folks?

Ever see what happens when a normal person's life gets turned into a meme? My cousin went viral for a dumb dance clip and it was a total nightmare, people showing up at her house and everything. She says the attention was fun for like five minutes before it got scary and weird. I'd say for most folks it's way more trouble than it's worth unless you're already chasing clout.

My buddy's kid became a meme and strangers kept mailing toys to their house.

Yeah, the "fun for five minutes" part is so true. My dog got famous for a week and we just stopped posting anything about him online. It's the only way to make it stop when you don't want that life.
