Hot take: my best ad week ever happened when I stopped bidding, not when I bid more
Two months ago I paused every single campaign for 9 days and somehow cleared $6,100 in sales from people who'd seen my stuff 4 or 5 times already, so now I can't tell if retargeting is doing the heavy lifting or if I'm just burning cash on cold traffic for fun, and I want to know which side you'd land on.
Man, the thing nobody ever talks about here is the frequency cap itself doing the retargeting for you. There's a ceiling on how many times someone can see your ad, and once they hit it, the extra money you spend stops buying you new eyeballs and just buys you repeats that would have converted anyway. So the real question is whether your 9-day pause let that pent-up demand drain out, or whether your cold spend was just feeding names into a bucket that was already full.
