Why does nobody talk about setting a $5 daily cap on a new campaign for the first week?

Honestly, I was burning through my budget in like 2 hours until I tried this on a local service ad last month, and it forced the algorithm to actually learn who to show it to instead of just blasting it out to anyone, so has anyone else found a simple budget trick that actually worked?

Man, I felt like a total genius when I figured that out too, after burning cash so fast it made my head spin. @adam731 is onto something with that longer learning period idea, makes total sense to let it cook a bit.

Yeah, that slow start is key... letting it run for a few days on a tight budget like @adam731 said just works. Stops you from blowing your whole spend on the first few hours of desperate clicks.

Oh, that's a solid move. The real trick is that daily cap forces it to spread impressions out over more hours, which usually means a wider, less desperate audience. I've found a three day learning period at a low budget works even better before you even think about scaling.
